Why a Blog?

Hi. My name is Abbie. I'm a wife  and mom to the three little ones. I'm writing this blog as a journal and a picture of our real lives. (Plus, I figure my Facebook friends are tired of all my bragging or complaining statuses about my kids) I've attempted blogging before, but I lost interest. (I have a tendency to be very ADD) I'm an avid reader. I love to knit, but thanks to the ADD, almost never finish a project. I am a nerd. I am not SuperMom. I am not especially good at domestic things. I am sometimes completely frustrated with my life.
Meet my family:
Paul is the daddy to our bunch. He's the love of my life, even though we often drive each other crazy. We've been married almost 6 years. We've gone through 4 moves, 3 dogs, several job changes, 3 kids, and 1 miscarriage. It's been rough sometimes, but we stick together.
Sam, 3, is my oldest. We share a birthday. My 23rd birthday was memorable in a way I never would have imagined. Sam is all boy. He's always into something, and loves wrestling, running, yelling, and anything that involves weapons of some sort. He's also incredibly strong-willed and stubborn. (Much like his Mama.) He's also incredibly smart and talkative and logical. Laying down rules for him can be like arguing with a Harvard law grad.
Next is my Ella, she's nearly two and an interesting study in contrasts. She's very much the girly girl. She's constantly in my makeup, nail polish, lotion, you name it. But she also keeps up with her big brother just fine and occasionally wins their battles. She's showing quite the sense of humor as her vocabulary expands. She's also quite the drama queen. All disappointments right now bring on the dreaded "poochy lip" and either standing dejectedly in a corner or lying down in the floor and sobbing.
Sophie is my sweet little one. She's now almost four months old. I love watching her personality develop. She's a very easy, contented baby overall, so I'm hoping she'll stay that way as she grows.

So that's us. If you're looking for a blog with deep insightful thoughts, this is not that blog. If you're looking for brilliant ideas for your home, this is not it. If you're looking for gorgeous photos of perfect children, this is not it. If you're looking for a brutally honest look at the ups and downs of mommyhood, this just might be what you're looking for. Welcome. It might not always be pretty, but it will be honest.
